Ella Ramsay

Is a ceramicist. She is currently at work on a sculpture series titled “Grief, Ajar,” a collection of lidded jars inspired by traditional cinerary urns, reimagining the urn as a container for varied kinds of loss. Her functional wares include any and all household objects, from tableware to decorative lamps, mirrors, and furniture. Her pieces are carefully crafted to be as beautiful to behold as they are to be held.

Is a writer. She writes fiction, poetry, personal essays, review, and screenplay. She is the Third Place Winner of Room Magazine’s 2024 Short Forms Contest. Her work has appeared in Lez Spread The Word magazine, The Guardian, and Unearthed Online Literary Journal, among other places. She received her BA in Contemporary Studies and Creative Writing from the University of King’s College in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
